East Coast Radio presenter, corporate programme director, musician, actress, and all-around creative Tee Xaba thrives in the spotlight and loves connecting with people. But, for many years her large bust impacted her confidence. Two years ago, she opted for breast reduction surgery. She shared her experience with us…

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO CONSIDER BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY?
In 2022, I decided it was time for a change. My large bust had been a constant source of discomfort and backaches, plus it affected my wardrobe choices and confidence. It was like having a personal weightlifting session every day! When the opportunity for a breast reduction came up, I jumped at it. It was all about reclaiming my comfort and confidence.

WHAT WAS THE EXPERIENCE LIKE?
The whole experience was like a dream come true, thanks to the amazing Dr Susan Johnson. From our first chat, I felt reassured and excited. The recovery was smoother than I anticipated, with top-notch support from my doctor, family and friends. The biggest challenge was adjusting to the changes and dealing with a bit of temporary discomfort, but honestly, it was a small price to pay for such a big gain.

HOW HAS THE BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY IMPACTED YOUR DAILY LIFE AND OVERALL WELL-BEING?
The surgery was a total game-changer! I now enjoy daily activities without the dreaded backaches and can wear the clothes I’ve always wanted to. Whether it’s dancing at an event or simply going about my day, everything feels easier and more enjoyable. My overall well-being has skyrocketed, and I feel like I’ve got my life back.

HOW HAS THE SURGERY AFFECTED YOUR BODY IMAGE?
My body image and self-confidence have had a fantastic boost! I feel more in tune with my body and can finally express my personal style without limitations. The emotional lift has been wonderful. I’m more confident and comfortable in my own skin than ever before.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO SOMEONE WHO IS CONTEMPLATING BREAST REDUCTION SURGERY BUT IS UNSURE?
If you’re on the fence about it, I say go for it! The minimal pain and huge benefits are so worth it. Chat with a trusted doctor, weigh the pros and cons, and imagine life without that constant discomfort. It’s an empowering step that can make a world of difference – trust me, it’s worth it! Surround yourself with a supportive team and don’t be afraid to ask questions and seek advice. My journey was made so much better by my incredible doctor and my loving support network. If you’re considering this path, remember that you’re not alone, and a little bit of courage can lead to a whole lot of transformation!
