Two decades. One incredible community. And a whole lot of memories.
For 20 years, Get It. Ballito. Umdloti. Umhlanga has been your go-to for local stories, style, food, people and places that make life in our region so special. Over the years we’ve laughed, celebrated and – most importantly – shared the spotlight with the people who make our community tick. To mark this milestone, we asked our team to reflect and share a few moments that have shaped the experience so far..

What’s your favourite thing about working on the magazine?
It’s an incredible privilege to meet people in our community and to hear their stories and for them to trust me to tell those stories well. I get to make genuine connections with people from all walks of life. There’s something very special about being invited into someone’s world, even if it’s just for a few hours.
What do you think is the biggest reason Get It is still successful 20 years later?
I think it’s because Get It has always stayed true to its heart, celebrating local. We shine a light on real people, real businesses and real stories. We evolve with the times, but we never lose sight of the fact that connection is what matters most. People want to see themselves and their neighbours reflected in the pages, and that sense of belonging keeps readers coming back.
