Taking Flight launches on 4 June at The Gallery, Ballito Lifestyle Centre, bringing together local artists in a powerful exhibition inspired by migration, identity and resilience. Alongside the artworks, photographic portraits of refugee women from the DRC and Burundi honour their strength, creativity and humanity, reframing their stories through
dignity rather than pity. The exhibition also includes collaborative craft projects and fundraising elements supporting Refugee Social Services, inviting visitors to experience art that uplifts, connects and gives voice to lived experience.

Online entries for the 2026 edition of Amashova close on 24 June at 5pm, ahead of the iconic race taking place on Sunday, 19 July.
