Pamela Naidu on leadership, community and building more than homes.
As Head of Sales and Marketing at Devmco Realty, Pamela has played an instrumental role in shaping some of the North Coast’s most exciting developments. She shares her journey, the lessons she’s learnt as a woman in leadership, and why people will always be at the heart of property.
What first drew you to the property industry, and what has kept you passionate about it over the years?
My journey into property began with a genuine interest in how real estate can transform lives and create long-term value. I was drawn to the opportunity to help people find not just a house, but a place they can truly call home, or a sound investment for their future.
What has kept me passionate is the relationships I’ve built along the way and the privilege of guiding clients through one of the biggest decisions of their lives. Every property and every client has a unique story, and being part of that journey continues to motivate and inspire me every day.
As a woman in a leadership role, what have been some of the biggest lessons you’ve learnt?
One of the biggest lessons has been the importance of leading with confidence, authenticity and resilience. Property is a highly competitive industry, and there have been times when I’ve had to work harder to prove myself. Those experiences taught me to trust my knowledge, stay focused on delivering results and never stop learning.
I’ve also learnt that strong relationships are at the heart of success. Listening to clients, supporting colleagues and building trust are just as important as market knowledge and negotiation skills. As a woman in leadership, I believe it’s important to lead by example, create opportunities for others and show that success comes from consistency, integrity and a genuine commitment to people.
You’ve helped shape some of the North Coast’s most exciting developments. What has it meant to play a role in the growth of this community?
It has been both a privilege and an incredibly rewarding experience. The KZN North Coast has grown into one of South Africa’s most sought-after regions, and being able to contribute to that journey is something I’m truly proud of.
What makes it especially meaningful is knowing that property development is about so much more than buildings. It’s about creating communities where people can live, work, raise families and invest in their future. Seeing developments evolve from a vision into thriving neighbourhoods, and watching families and businesses become part of those communities, has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career.
The North Coast continues to offer tremendous opportunity, and I’m excited to keep playing a role in shaping its future while helping clients achieve their own property goals.
How has your passion for building relationships influenced your approach to leadership and client service?
I firmly believe property is, first and foremost, a people business. While market knowledge, strategy and negotiation are all important, lasting success comes from building genuine relationships based on trust, integrity and mutual respect.
As a leader, I’ve always focused on creating a culture where people feel supported, valued and empowered to succeed. When your team is motivated and confident, they’re able to deliver exceptional service to clients.
With clients, my approach has always been to listen first, understand their goals and provide honest, informed guidance. Buying or selling property is often one of life’s biggest decisions, so it’s important that people feel supported every step of the way. Many of the relationships I’ve built over the years have grown into long-term partnerships and friendships, and that’s something I value deeply. For me, success isn’t measured only by transactions, but by the trust we’ve earned and the lasting relationships we’ve built.
Looking back on your career so far, what are you most proud of, and what advice would you give to other women hoping to build successful careers in property or business?
When I look back on my career, I’m most proud of the impact I’ve had on both people and communities. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I’ve helped clients achieve their property goals, contributed to the growth of the North Coast and built a career founded on trust, integrity and meaningful relationships. I’m also proud of the teams I’ve had the privilege to lead and mentor, creating an environment where people can grow and succeed.
My advice to other women is to believe in your abilities, embrace every opportunity to learn and never underestimate the value of perseverance. Success doesn’t happen overnight; it’s built through consistency, resilience and a willingness to keep growing, even when faced with challenges. Stay authentic, build strong relationships and don’t be afraid to step into leadership opportunities. Your unique perspective is valuable, and with confidence, purpose and hard work, you can build a fulfilling career in property—or any industry.
