When I was younger, my mum taught me to cook my first dish – a lamb/mutton curry. And history is repeating itself, because this is the first dish I taught my daughter to make.
Serves 6
2 kg lamb
4 potatoes, chopped
1 onion, chopped
4 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
garlic powder to taste
ginger powder to taste
1 tsp turmeric
Chop meat into dice shapes. Set aside. Sauté onions in oil until golden brown, then add the chilli powder, turmeric, salt, ginger and garlic. Add the meat. After 20 minutes, add the chopped potatoes and cook until a gravy forms. Serve with rice.
