Men with Momentum: Stef le Roux, Owner of Waterways in Bloemfontein

Stef le Roux believes that because his upbringing was not always easy, it has shaped him into being the independent and hardworking individual he is today.

Stef’s inspiration comes from his grandfather, although he only knew him for seven years. He remembers his grandfather as an honest, respectable person, who worked very hard to provide for his family and for the community – someone who stood his ground and didn’t let anyone walk over him.

The enthusiastic businessman lives his life by always trying to see the bigger picture, by practicing positive thinking, staying humble and, he jokingly adds, having patience with difficult customers. His success is built on the motto that one should always stay with your original decision. Keep the faith and focus on the end results while going through all the obstacles along the way.

Waterways specialises in selling sanware and plumbing supplies. Stef and the team are the perfect partners to have while revamping or upgrade your bathroom and/or kitchen.

He aims to ensure customer satisfaction by helping people find the best possible products for their specific needs. “The feeling to see a project going from zero to a beautiful, perfect kitchen or bathroom, is priceless.”

Stef strives to deliver the best service with a smile, and to ensure effective after-sales service. “We sell high quality products – no ‘Chinese imports’. The Waterways team provides expert advice and our sales persons have an honest attitude towards all our customers. We treat everyone who enters our doors, the same. Whether you spend R10 or R100 000, you will be treated with respect.”

He explains that the best decision he could have ever made, was to go from being an employee to becoming an employer. “It feels good to do what you love and to know that all the hard work you do is for your own business.”

On days when he is not in the office, Stef enjoys hunting and fishing and spending family time on the farm.
