1 The first day of February serves up the month’s first big event. Join the Weltevrede Deli Second Birthday Weekend Bash, and enjoy the unveiling of new menu items, one-time offers, and a vibrant atmosphere around the braai.
1 Saturday 1 February serves up the Rooibos Carnival at Toscana Estate, from 08:30pm until 1pm. The event will include various stalls, several games, and even lucky draws. Tickets are available from www.rooibosonthego.co.za at R60 per person, and R30 for kids under 6, including a snack pack.
7 Enjoy the music of the popular Afrikaans musician, Bok van Blerk, joined by Albert Smith, at The Buffalo on Friday 7 February. Doors open at 5pm already, with the artists set to take the stage from 7pm. Tickets are sold in phases, ranging from R185 to R250 at the door, and are available on Howler, or call 082 811 6003.
8 On Saturday 8 February the Seasons Market will once again be supporting a local organisation, while giving you something to do for the day. Enjoy food and drink stalls, music, and local vendors in the garden at 72 Waverly Road. Gates open at 9am, with an entrance fee of toiletries for Engo.
8 For those looking to be more active this year, the Kloppers Marathon will once again be taking place on Saturday 8 February. Take on the 34th Kloppers Marathon, or one of the shorter races, including a half-marathon, 10km or a 5km fun run.
8 More live music is always on the agenda in Bloemfontein. Join Johan Anker at the Aasvoël Club for My Legendes, where he will be singing his favourites from Afrikaans legends past and present on Saturday 8 February from 8pm. Tickets are available from R150 per person, contact 084 559 8991 to reserve yours.
10 Have you ever wanted to make your own hat? Or at least learn how? Now you can. From Monday 10 February you can learn the art of Hatmaking, or Millinery, from Hatz by Jeanie. Each class has limited space, so WhatsApp 072 985 3949 for details.
14 So many people love sushi, but very few could make their own if they tried. On Friday 14 February, local chef Patso Nikolov will be teaching a Sushi Class, where you can learn to make your own sushi at home. Contact 074 212 4444 to reserve a seat at the table.
20 Book yourself a seat at the Food4Kidz Feeding the Future table. The event will feature speaker GP van Rheede van Oudtshoorn and the Gingersnap Orkes. Feeding the Future will be held at Monte Bello Estate from 6pm with individual tickets, or R4000 per table, available.
22 The Aasvoël Club once again hosts a night of Afrikaans music on Saturday 22 February from 6pm when Márica Barnard takes to the stage for Kinders van die Wind. Enjoy well-known Afrikaans favourites by booking your seat for R100 from Hein at 084 559 8991.
