The Jaecoo J7 SHS is the fourth edition to the J7 family and Jaecoo’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. SHS stands for Super Hybrid System. What is an SHS? It’s a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle you can charge like an electric car, but it also charges itself while you drive, using the engine and braking to top up the battery. The Jaecoo is fuel efficient without compromising on performance.
What makes the Jaecoo J7 SHS special as a PHEV? It has a high battery level capacity and boasts exceptional power with low fuel consumption. In laymen’s terms, J7 SHS is fuel efficient and still packs a powerful punch.
It is also styled pretty well. The bold grill design, accompanied by the LED headlights, will definitely catch your eye. It also has flush door handles that pop out as you approach with the key, making you feel somewhat important, like a concierge opening the door for you. The full panoramic sunroof comes standard – something you usually pay extra for on high-spec premium cars. The electronic tailgate has a sleek light bar to make the rear even more appealing.
The J7 SHS allows for a soft drive and light steering. It’s jam-packed with advanced driving assistance: Autonomous Emergency Braking (it brakes for you in emergencies), Adaptive Cruise Control (maintains a safe following distance), Rear Cross-Traffic Assist with Braking (warns you when reversing), Traffic Sign Recognition, Traffic Jam Assist, and so much more. The Driver Monitoring System checks for fatigue and beeps when you’re not paying attention. Basically, the J7 SHS does a lot to keep you safe on the road.

The interior includes soft-touch materials, giving you that “premium” feel. The J7 is not only about interesting tech it’s also practical. There’s ample leg and headroom, a spacious 500L boot that expands to 1265L when you fold the rear seats, and Isofix mountings in the back.
