It’s a thrill-a-minute this December

For lovers of a great thriller, here’s a list you’ll want to keep. Our faves for December include …

Ruth Ware’s The Woman in Suite 11 … a follow on to her brilliant The Woman In Cabin 10, which you may have watched on Netflix (and if you haven’t, you should). In Suite 11, Lo Blacklock back, this time at the press opening of a luxury Swiss hotel owned by a reclusive billionaire. And again, what promises to be a wonderful spoil turns out to be somewhat harrowing … a proper page turner! Simon and Schuster

Two women checked in. Only one checked out. In A Murder in Paris, author Matthew Blake explores what would happen if a memory – one of a hotel room, a pillow, a lifeless body – could get you killed. Past secrets, buried memories, a great thriller. Harper Collins

The Shroud of Hades by Andy McDermott is a Wild and Chase adventure … one in which the world’s richest man is dead, his final act being a billion dollar bounty on the person he blames. As action packed as what you always expect, and get, from McDermott. Headline

The final novel by the legendary writer Nelson DeMille, with Alex DeMille, The Tin Men is all alliances, animosities and secret agendas and the new generation of warfare and weapons. Sphere

Torrential rain causes a landslide on a motorway in Scotland, which reveals a body hidden in the tarmac. Val McDermid’s Silent Bones is a Karen Pirie thriller … and the Queen of Crime doesn’t disappoint … a gripping, puzzling thriller that’ll keep you guessing. Sphere

Two fabulous reads from James Patterson. Return of the Spider is an Alex Cross thriller, with Alex finding a hidden cabin with a stash of gruesome trophies and diaries … and he needs to retrace the steps of his long-ago investigation. Billion Dollar Ransom by James Patterson and Duane Swierczynski sees five people kidnapped … all different locations, all at the same time. And while families are prepared to pay up, the FBI agent on the case doesn’t want to pay. She wants to find them. Century

And last but not least of the best thriller writers … Knife in the Back by Karen Rose. It’s the story of a cop, convicted and jailed for something she didn’t do, who’s now released but being targeted by the same people who framed her before, this time demanding she delivery drugs or they’ll hurt her teenage son. Twists and turns and a terrific read! Headline
