Ready for little summer dresses, sandy toes and loads of outdoor fun? We are! The summer is finally here, the December holidays are around the corner…and we are here for all of it!

While all the sun, feasting, cocktail-drinking goodness might be a great way to relax, it is a stressful time for your skin.

Embrace gorgeous, glowing skin all summer long with these five tips…your skin will thank you:

Keep those hydration levels on a constant high: Spending time in the sun can lead to dehydration, which doesn’t do your skin (or your health) any favours. So, remember to drink a glass of water between those cocktails by the pool and apply moisturiser regularly to give your skin all the hydration it needs – inside and out – to look plump and youthful.

Embrace protective clothing: We’re not saying you have to dress like a nun, but wearing protective clothing can significantly reduce your skin’s exposure to harmful UV rays. Opt for lightweight, long-sleeved shirts, wide-brimmed hats, and sunglasses with UV protection.

Sunscreen is your best friend: Before you go anywhere, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 before heading outdoors. This is a non-negotiable step in your skincare routine. Remember to re-apply regularly.

Post-sun care is crucial: After a day in the sun, it’s imperative to give your skin some extra TLC. Take a cool shower to soothe your skin and remove any residual perspiration. Afterwards, apply a gentle, lightweight moisturising lotion. Opt for one that offers adequate hydration without feeling greasy on the skin. One of our faves is Bodidoc’s Tissue Oil Lotion, which is not only packed with moisture, it can also help to reduce stretch marks and uneven skin tone.

The power of self-care: Don’t underestimate the emotional aspect of skin health and body confidence. Taking the time to care for your skin can boost your self-esteem and mental well-being. Incorporate a skincare routine into your daily life that includes cleansing, moisturising, and using products that address your specific skin concerns. Regular self-care not only improves the condition of your skin but also promotes a positive self-image.
