We attended the heartfelt opening of The Lighthouse KZN – an NPO offering safe temporary accommodation for women and their children in times of crisis. Tucked away in a peaceful location in Hillcrest, the sanctuary is a beacon of hope for women rebuilding their lives after trauma, abuse or divorce. The event was a simple but special gathering with tea, treats and moving words from the founders, the team at City Hill Church, and the previous owners, who have all made this dream possible. Now fully registered, The Lighthouse offers eight bedrooms, shared living spaces and most importantly, a space filled with love, dignity and purpose. Grounded in Christian values, the home aims to restore confidence and self-worth to women and their children, and help them take steps toward a brighter, independent future.
