April 1: Here’s a date set to make your floral arrangement skills blossom into something special. Jill Manson of Jill Manson Flower Journeys will be holding a creative play session themed Carnival of Dreams, focused on fantasy-inspired floral arrangements. April 5: A one-show-only live performance by Australian duo and twins, the Pierce Brothers. Jack and Patrick Pierce will be performing a sweet blend of Australian indie-folk and blues, including some favourites and songs from their newest album, Into The Great Unknown, at the Copper Bar in Bryanston, with an opening act by Martin Gill. April 20: The ever so glamorous affair of SA Fashion Week is here showcasing the Spring/Summer 2023 runway. Thula Sindi and Michael Ludwig are among the designers that will be presenting their #SS23 collections at Mall of Africa between April 20 and 22. Fashionistas … this is a date not to be missed. April 21: Get ready to rock and roll over to The Teatro at Montecasino where the successful hit Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story jukebox musical is live on stage. Leading an all-South African cast is singer-songwriter Jethro Tait. Presented by Pieter Toerien, this unique tribute musical follows the journey of Buddy’s meteoric rise to the top of the record charts during the golden days of rock ‘n’ roll. April 21 to May 28. April 22: It’s the event of the season for the mink and manure set … and we can’t wait. All handsome men and brave ponies and field-side picnics with bubbles … it’s the Nedbank International Polo. April 1: Colour My City is spreading love and happiness across the streets of Melville with a fun 3km walk/run. Also known as a colour fun run where you get splattered with colour powder in all shades of the rainbow, making for great photos! Entry fee is R150 for adults and R100 for kids. April 1: ‘‘Move It, Move It!’’ Gather the family for a night of glee and giggles as Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR is brought to life on stage at the Peoples Theatre. The show will be based on the DreamWorks animated film so prepare for a crack-a-lackin time as Alex the Lion and his friends escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar. 19 March until 23 April. Live theatre meets digital in a screening of Shine! Digital, a musical variety show highlighting various community members and NPOs making change through song, dance and creative processes.
