Adding value to your Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning fever is sweeping across the nation but with inflation rate at a high, the cost of keeping our homes ‘spick and span’ has become rather costly.

In days gone by, “cleanfluencers” like Sophie Hinchcliffe, AKA Mrs Hinch and Marie Kondo, may have convinced people to opt for higher-end brands, but today people are pushed to being more budget conscious. Thankfully, Game have understood the pressure consumers are under by introducing their new value-for-money product range #First Value.

First Value is a range of products that prizes quality, value for money and sustainability above all else. Using biodegradable, ammonia-free detergents in 50% recycled packaging, First Value offers peace of mind to consumers who are budget conscious but still care about the environment.

Katherine Madley Vice President of Marketing from Game says, “While private label brands have not always been looked upon favourably, that perception has begun to change as they see that they can get value for money and quality in one product. This is what our latest offering, First Value is all about.”

With these quick cleaning tips, you will get the most out of any First Value product:

Entrances matter:
Doorways are often where people track in the most dirt, and all of that accumulates on the doormat. If you want to trap even more dirt, you can place one door mat outside and one inside. If you want to keep as much dirt out as possible, ask guests to remove their shoes when they enter. Good luck getting them to listen. If your home uses door mats, remember to clean them on both sides.

Don’t forget your walls:
Keeping your walls free of greasy fingerprints, dust and stains is as easy as wiping them with a damp microfiber cloth. Be sure to start from top to bottom, and bonus points if you wipe the door frames and baseboards too!

Windows and Blinds:
Always clean your windows on an overcast day if you don’t want the cleaner to dry and leave streaks before you get the chance to wipe them off. When you’re ready, raise your blinds and wash the windows with a First Value glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

Disinfect your electronics:
The bad news is that cell phones harbour many germs. To clean, power it down, and wipe with a microfiber cloth and of course, a First Value disinfectant. Allow to air dry for five minutes before wiping dry with a paper towel or microfiber cloth once more. Use this method to disinfect other electronics, like your TV remote and computer mouse.

Bring your cutting boards back to life
Cutting boards always manage to get those irremovable food marks on them no matter how hard you scrub. If you are looking for a new way to tackle this problem, try a First Value cleaning product.
Alternatively, run the cut side of a lemon over the board to help remove food stains and smells. For extra oomph, sprinkle with salt or baking soda first.

Whatever your spring cleaning needs, Game’s First Value product range will help you keep your home bright and sparkling. First Value is available at Game stores across the country.
