05 A spectacle of Afro-Soul-infused jazz awaits you with the return of the Business Premium Jazz Festival on November 5 at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena.

With six sold-out events under its belt, the festival is looking forward to continuing its record-breaking streak with its seventh event. Headlining the distinguished night of jazz are the elegant voices of multiple award-winners Ami Faku, Nathi Mankayi, The Soil, and Something Soweto alongside rising stars Yallunder and Nhlonipho.

Guests can look forward to hearing the sweet sounds of the saxophone, trumpet, piano, guitar and drums. These eclectic talents will crystalize the celebration of local soulful music. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

05 Do you have the best potjiekos recipe? Be sure to enter the potjiekos competition at 19th Hole Sports Bar on November 5 from 10am to 5pm. The competition will be hosted at The Rand Centre, on the corner of Jim Fouche Street and 2nd Avenue. Each pot costs R200 and there will be big prizes up for grabs.

The market will be held at Meyer’s Farm, Fore Street, Alberton, from 9am to 5.30pm on November 5. The market still has room for stallholders selling leather goods, clothing, wooden crafts, and more.

05 Brackendowns CPF will host a Bracken Family Funday at the Jackson Dam in Alberton on November 5. Families can have freshly prepared meals at a variety of food stands and other market-style businesses.

The event is set to take place from 9am to 2pm. The Brackendowns CPF will be selling boerewors rolls to raise funds and would appreciate any donations.

 19 You don’t want to miss out on discovering the rich history and gems hidden in the small village of Henley on Klip. Discover all this through a Heritage Tour which guides visitors through the village, discovering places like the Olde Haunte (certified as a haunted house) which was built soon after the Boer War.

Yes, the village dates back to 1904 and offers not only the notable history to be discovered but it is also home to 10 places where you can enjoy a meal or something to drink. The tour starts at About Time where you can buy your tour guide at R50 with proceeds going to the Henley Lions Club.

Follow the route of about 14km and closer to 24km if you do all the loops. Cycling is the most fun but driving will also do, and if you have the legs for it, you can even walk it.
