Join Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church at their Annual Family Festival on May 7. The festival will run from 9am to 9pm.

Tickets are R50 for pensioners and children and R80 for adults. It will be hosted at the Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church, 10 Blougom Crescent, Alberton, Liefde en Vrede.

The event will feature performers, musicians, international cuisine, children’s rides and games and a bar area with prizes for the community to win.

The Street Store Project under the leadership of the Doxa Deo Meyersdal team will take place at Ligstad on May 20 from 8am to 1pm. The needy and homeless will be invited to “shop” for clothing and shoes for free.

If Afrikaans music is on your radar, then we’re speaking to you! VOLUIT AFRIKAANS is an exciting new concert that will make its debut at Casalinga – one of the most iconic country estates in Muldersdrift.

From country and contemporary to pop and rock … there’s sure to be something that’ll tickle your fancy! The East Rand Gin Festival is back at Emperors Palace on May 6 from 11am to 10pm. Join the organisers for a fabulous day of great gins, the best beers, spectacular spirits, fabulous food, creative crafts and excellent entertainment. The festival will be at the new Emperors Palace Festival Grounds.

There will be 20 of South Africa’s best distillers and brewers and a wine garden. Limited seating will be provided, so bring your camping chairs but leave the food and drinks at home. Tickets are available from R50 and upwards.

The Alberton Retirement Village will be hosting another mini-market on May 6 from 9am to 1pm at 45 Kritzinger Road, Florentia. This fundraiser is open to everyone and both young and old will enjoy it.

A cash bar, food stalls, coffee and tea will be on sale on the day, as well as handmade articles, crafts, and a cash bar. Those interested in booking a stall are welcome.
