Local pop darling Jaydn Elle is stepping into the spotlight with her groovy new single Dancin Wit U — a glittering fusion of ’70s disco beats and modern pop that’s already turning heads and tapping toes.
Born and raised in the West Rand, Jaydn has always had music in her blood. But her latest release reveals a new side to the singer-songwriter: nostalgic, cinematic, and unapologetically fun.
Written when she was just 15, Dancin Wit U began as a teenage daydream — Jaydn’s vision of the perfect first date, inspired by the dreamy charm of rom-coms like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Kissing Booth.
“At the time, I hadn’t actually been on a real date,” laughs the now 18-year-old, “but I knew the kind of butterflies I wanted to feel.”
Now, years later, that daydream has blossomed into a full-fledged feel-good anthem. With shimmering retro grooves and a soulful beat reminiscent of “Sunday jams my gran used to play,” Jaydn invites listeners into a world of joy, movement, and youthful wonder.
And the track truly delivers. Jaydn’s vocals glide effortlessly over the beat with a sweetness that feels fresh and radio-ready. Originally recorded in 2021, the song found new life after Jaydn signed with Virgin Music. The partnership gave her the space to refine and reimagine the track in a way that reflects her growth as both an artist and a young woman discovering her sound.
“Songs don’t have expiration dates,” she explains. “This one needed to come out now – and I’m so glad I waited.”
Dancin Wit U also signals a bold creative pivot for Jaydn, who has no interest in being boxed into one genre. With its disco influences and pop appeal, the track is just the beginning of what promises to be a playful, emotional, and boundary-pushing journey.
