Meet the teacher

A teacher, they say, “takes a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart.” The North Coast boasts some of the best pre-primary, primary and high schools in the province – but they certainly wouldn’t be where they are without the dedication and passion of these wonderful teachers.

DEAN BALIE – ACADEMIC HEAD GRADE 8 AND 9, TREVERTON COLLEGE
Overseeing Grade 8 and 9 academics at Treverton College, part of Dean’s role is to revise the approach to the curriculum for these grades, making it more relevant and practical.
“The current schooling system focuses on preparing our children for an exam rather than the world that awaits them. We need to teach our children to be effective problem-solvers. As a school, we are committed to presenting students with the reality of what lies ahead when they leave school. Our drive is to give them a better reflection of reality, within the protection of a school environment.” www.Treverton.co.za
