A hot date – Get out & about this November!

05 November 2022

If you’ve got a future Ernie Els or Tiger Woods growing up in your home, then perhaps it’s time to consider sending him or her to a school that will offer both a quality, holistic education as well as world-class golf instruction. McKenna Academies, located at Umhlali Country Club, is hosting an open day on 5 November (slots available at 10am and 12pm) with food, drinks and music. Having partnered with Evolve Online School (an AdvTECH school), McKenna pupils receive relevant, modern online education whilst being coached by class AAA PGA professional Emile Steinmann and his high-performance coaching team. We absolutely love the name – and the concept behind – the newest exhibition at The Gallery at The Studios at Lifestyle Centre Ballito. Entitled 4Fs SAKES, the exhibition runs until 27 November and celebrates southern Africa’s natural world of ‘fauna, flora, feathers and a touch of fur’ through the visual arts. The collaboration of over 30 artists presents visitors with the magical power of nature, seen and experienced through the artists’ eyes, each using their own unique, creative gifts and presence. The Gallery is open from 9am to 5pm daily. Details: @thegallerylifestyle, 072 245 8691 (WhatsApp).

24 – 26  November 2022
‘When women gather, great things happen.’ This year celebrating its 70th birthday, the Christmas Country Fair has become one of the biggest of its kind in the country. Supported by vendors and shoppers from across SA, the Christmas Country Fair has grown into a beautiful showcase of South African creatives, designers, makers, bakers, crafters, producers and foodies … and it’s happening this month! Taking place between 24 and 26 November in the beautiful gardens at Collisheen Estate just outside Ballito, this year’s ‘bright and beautiful’ event will feature over 140 vendors over three days and shoppers are encouraged to bring their Christmas lists – and comfy shoes!

There will be everything, from unique gifts to handmade table and tree décor, Christmas cakes and fresh bakes, stationary for the year ahead, clothes, toys, beauty products and so much more on offer. A cashless event, you’ll need to bring your bank card (or Zapper). There is also an exciting new element to this year’s fair – a Christmas workshop on Friday 25 November (tickets sold separately for this). The fair runs from 9am to 4pm (Thursday), 9am to 6pm (Friday) and 8.30am to 2.30pm (Saturday) and tickets are R70 (1 day), R100 (2 day) and R150 (family of four with two adults and two children under 15).Book at: www.quicket.co.za.
