A chance to give back

RiAnne Rautenbach recently represented South Africa at the International Mrs Globe pageant in Palm Springs, California. She placed first runner up, and is excited to use the platform to make a positive difference.

A single mom of three boys, RiAnne Rautenbach certainly knows what it is to be busy. She describes herself as bubbly, determined and disciplined. Her children, she says, have taught her so much about life and allow her to stay humble. RiAnne works in sales, PR and marketing for Collins Residential Group, and absolutely loves life on the North Coast, spending much of her free time staying active on the Umhlanga promenade or playing sport with her boys.

When RiAnne was approached to enter the Mrs Globe pageant by a scout, she was drawn to the opportunity to do some good. “When I heard that the fundraising foundation supports children and women in need, I felt I could make a difference with the connection of my birth story to inspire and motivate others.”

RiAnne’s biological mother hailed from Serbia, and due to the hardships of war, experienced a difficult time that led to a breakdown soon after RiAnne’s birth. RiAnne was welcomed into the home of a loving foster family who later adopted her at the age of three. “No matter where you’ve come from, it doesn’t determine where you’re going,” she says. “I was so blessed to be welcomed into a house of love and that’s why I have such a heart for orphaned babies. That was once me, and the gift of love (which is free) can change everything.” RiAnne loves working with baby homes, often giving her time and delivering hand-knitted toys, blankets and beanies to little ones in need.

Now, she hopes to use the Mrs Globe platform to uplift women, continue visiting baby homes and do some motivational speaking . “It is such an honour to have this platform to make a difference,” she says. “I’ve had this vision since I was a little girl and I’m so excited to know my dreams have become a reality.”

RiAnne came second in the recent international Mrs Globe pageant held in Palm Springs California , and was awarded the Mrs Globe South Africa title. She also won the Delegates Choice Award for the overall winner of the International Mrs Globe. During her reign, she will work with a number of charitable organisations, including Bloved Foundation, The Baby House, Ray of Hope, Domino Foundation, and The WIN Foundation (Women in Need).

“I want to optimise every day, every moment and every encounter with everyone I meet in my day to make a difference in whichever way I can, and I hope to add more outreach programmes to my list,” she says.
