North Coast-based Mix Concrete Creations is turning concrete into statement design, crafting bespoke basins and decor that bring a refined, sculptural edge to modern spaces.
After spending ten years in the United Kingdom, Suret and Travis Lloyd returned to South Africa to raise their family on the North Coast. Travis established a plumbing business, while Suret, with her background in business, stepped into managing operations – a partnership that would soon evolve into something more creative.
From function to form
Working closely on renovations and new builds, the couple noticed a clear shift toward concrete as a design feature, particularly in bathrooms. With Travis’ hands-on experience installing concrete basins, and a natural creative flair shaped by past work crafting furniture, the idea to create their own pieces took shape.
Together with Suret’s passion for interiors, Mix Concrete Creations was born, merging craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Crafted by hand
What started with a single mould quickly became a process of refinement. Through trial and precision, they developed techniques to achieve the perfect finish, expanding their range to include smaller decorative pieces alongside their basins.
Each item is made to order, embracing the subtle variations that make concrete such a unique medium.

Described by Suret as urban elegance, their aesthetic is clean, sculptural and quietly striking. Their signature fluted basin has become a standout favourite, offering both form and versatility, with custom colour options to suit any space.

Drawing inspiration from both the building industry and evolving interior trends, their pieces are designed to feel modern yet timeless.
Looking ahead, Suret and Travis hope to collaborate with more homeowners and designers, while also seeing their decor pieces stocked in select Durban boutiques – growing the brand without losing the handcrafted quality that defines it.
