30: The Rooiwarm Spring Market takes place on Saturday, 30 August, at the NG Church Universitas West, promising a festive afternoon of music, food, and family fun. 31: Spend your Sunday morning at the Free State Botanical Garden Market on 31 August, where good food, live music, and unique finds await in a stunning natural setting. With ample seating, great vibes, and the Botanical Restaurant open too, it’s the perfect outing. Entry fee of R35 applicable for adults, R20 for children.

5: Don’t miss the Langenhoven Market Spring Night Market on Friday, 5 September. From 5 pm until late, enjoy a festive evening under the stars with all your favourite stalls, delicious eats, and a vibrant atmosphere that make this beloved night market a local favourite. 12 – 13: On Friday and Saturday, 12 and 13 September, the Louise Fourie Dance Studio presents a dazzling dance production set to ABBA’s greatest hits, in collaboration with Willie Venter. Catch the magic at the Wynand Mouton Theatre from 7 pm. Tickets available from the studio at R150 per person.

13: Celebrate 25 years of Watershed live at Be Human on 13 September. Gates open at 6 pm for a show filled with timeless hits. Unreserved seating is available before and after the show. 16: Ned Evett, fretless glass guitar maestro, fresh from touring Europe with legends Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, is playing at Aasvoël Klub on Tuesday, 16 September, from 6 pm. Experience stunning sunset views, electrifying music, and a surprise local artist. Tickets start at R150 on Quicket, R300 at the door.

20: Onthou my asseblief, ’n Liefdeskonsert uit Heidedal is an annual Afrikaans event celebrating Bloemfontein’s vibrant Heidedal community. Produced by Angelo Mockie, this year’s show, hosted at the Free State Musicon from 7 pm on 20 September, features local stars Domariah Stilo, Lenthea Jantjies, and Allonechia Steyn alongside Caroline Grace. 24: Celebrate Heritage Day at Urth on Wednesday, 24 September, from 3 pm! Embrace South Africa’s rich cultures by dressing in traditional wear, African prints, or cultural fusion.
