From starting out in the beauty industry at just 14 to building her own successful studio, Annemé Van Der Watt has turned her passion for beauty, people and personal connection into a thriving business in Bloemfontein.

For Annemé Van Der Watt, owner of Get Glam Beauty Studio, beauty has always been about more than treatments and products. It is about people, confidence and creating a space where clients feel valued, comfortable and cared for.
Her journey in the beauty industry began at 14 years old when she was selected as a representative for beauty products. What started as an opportunity to promote products soon developed into a passion for working with people. “At first, it was simply about promoting the products, but I quickly realised how much I loved the interaction with clients and, especially, seeing how the products made them feel about themselves.”
That early experience sparked a journey that would see Annemé expand her skills across several areas of the beauty industry. She began offering nail services, eyelash extensions and massages before later adding microblading and permanent makeup to her repertoire.

For Annemé, learning and continuous development have always been an important part of her career. As the industry evolved, she made a conscious effort to improve her knowledge and skills through further education and professional training.
“I also made a point of doing courses and getting properly trained because I wanted to offer my clients professional services and do things the right way from the beginning.”
Her dedication to learning eventually paved the way for her biggest step yet – opening her own beauty studio. Get Glam Beauty Studio was born from Annemé’s desire to create a space where she could work according to her own vision while providing clients with the personal service she values so highly. “I have always been someone who goes the extra mile, and I think my clients would all agree with that,” she says.
For Annemé, however, Get Glam is about far more than providing beauty treatments. Over the years, the relationships she has developed with her clients have become one of the most rewarding aspects of running her business. “I genuinely become invested in my clients and their lives, and over the years, so many of my clients have become like family to me. I care just as much about the person sitting in my chair as I do about the service I am providing.”

That personal approach has become a defining part of the Get Glam experience. Annemé says she wants every client to leave the studio feeling confident and happy with their results. “I am also very focused on perfection. I want every client to leave Get Glam feeling beautiful, confident and completely happy with the result. I think that personal connection, attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile are what make Get Glam special to me.”
While building a successful business is important to Annemé, she measures success by more than the number of clients who walk through her doors. As a mother and businesswoman, she takes pride in maintaining a balance between her professional responsibilities and her family life.
“I’m a very family-oriented person, and one of the things I’m most proud of is being able to build a successful business while still having the flexibility to be a present and involved mom. Being a businesswoman and a great mom at the same time is something that is very important to me,” she says.
Running a business in the ever-changing beauty industry comes with its own challenges. Trends, products and techniques are constantly evolving, requiring beauty professionals to stay informed and adaptable. Annemé continues to keep up with developments in the industry while ensuring her clients receive professional and personalised service.
When she is not at the studio, however, she enjoys stepping away from the busy pace of business and spending quality time with her family.
“When I’m not working, my family and I love being outdoors. We enjoy hunting, fishing, camping and spending time on the farm. Honestly, just being in nature is probably my favourite way to switch off. My boys love it just as much as I do, so those are the moments I treasure most.”
Annemé’s journey would not have been possible without the support of the people closest to her. Her faith also plays an important role in her life and has helped guide her through both personal and professional challenges. “I honestly don’t believe I would be where I am today without Jesus. My faith has carried me through the difficult times and reminded me to keep going when things haven’t always been easy.”
She credits her parents as some of her biggest supporters during the early stages of her career, while her husband continues to play an important role in supporting her both personally and professionally. “My parents were my biggest source of support throughout the early years of my journey, and now my husband is such an important support in both my life and my business. I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have believed in me and supported me along the way.”
Above all, Annemé remains grateful to the clients who have supported Get Glam throughout its journey. “I have to mention my lovely clients. They make everything so much easier and more enjoyable. Their support, loyalty and trust mean more to me than they probably realise. So much of what I have built would not have been possible without the people who have supported me along the way.”
From a teenage beauty representative to an established entrepreneur and mother, Annemé’s journey reflects the power of passion, perseverance and genuine connection. Through Get Glam Beauty Studio, she continues to build not only a business, but a space where beauty and meaningful relationships go hand in hand.
