Babies R Us is calling on all soon-to-be and new moms to join them at their annual Mama Club event series, held in partnership with Parent Sense, designed to share the secrets to successfully navigating the journey of parenthood. Moms will have an opportunity to join the full day events which include important postpartum topics like returning to work, the importance of pelvic health, reading your baby’s cues, introducing solids, mental health awareness, and relationships with your partner and family. This is particularly suited to moms in their fourth trimester or who’ve recently given birth, offering them an opportunity to meet new friends, share insights, get advice and enjoy a delicious lunch. In honour of Heritage month, local muso Siki Jo-An will be touring South Africa. Dubbed The Intimate Concert with the African Queen, the tour will boast a series of concerts at small venues during which Siki Jo-An will introduce her album by taking audiences on an acoustic African music journey with her powerful voice accompanied by instruments such as uhadi, djembe, shakers, piano and guitars. If you’re an advocate for organ donation, here’s a worthy fundraiser for you. The Renal Care Society of South Africa, in conjunction with Run/Walk for Life, is hosting a Kidney fun run/walk. The theme is Superheroes, and the first 200 entrants at the event will receive a free goodie bag. All funds raised will go towards bursaries for renal nurses and clinical technologists The distance for one lap is 3.2km and entrants can do one or two laps.
