The Siripat Lions Rugby Club’s aim is to use the game of rugby as a vehicle to mentor the youth and instil social values whilst growing the game itself in the Reservoir Hills, Clare Estate and surrounding communities.

Club Chairman, Deon Naicker explains that the work of the Siripat Lions extends beyond the rugby field as they also encourage the youth to adopt healthy mindsets and lifestyles. “Our broader aim is to create avenues of opportunity for the youth who would otherwise be drawn to unsavoury activities and encourage a culture of social cohesion in the community between youth from disparate backgrounds.”

Super Tyres recently donated several second-hand tyres to the Siripat Lions Rugby Club, which are used during fitness training to build speed, strength and endurance. “We are so grateful to Super Tyres for their ongoing support,” says Naicker.

In addition, some of the donated tyres were used to create a flower garden. “The flower garden is a wonderful way to teach the youth about the environment and instilling discipline to take care of it, water it, weed the garden and encourage ownership and responsibility,” adds Naicker.

“We are proud of our association with the Siripat Lions Rugby club and commend them on the wonderful work they do in promoting the game of rugby as well as encouraging social cohesion among the youth,” says Dean Horn – Super Tyres Managing Director.
