From double cask whisky tasting to dark chocolate, cherry and sourdough dessert. Our evening with the masters of The Macallan Distillery was an unforgettable and intimate taste adventure, held in The LivingRoom at Summerhill Guest Estate in Cowies Hill. At the head of the dining table was one of Africa’s most sought-after whisky connoisseurs. The first black person to distill whisky in South Africa, and brand ambassador for The Macallan Distillery, Thami Banda took guests on a journey of the senses as he navigated the mastery behind the Highland single malt Scotch whisky. Paired with a three-course dinner that included chicken; served with smoked zucchini and apricot, and bushpig with porcini mushrooms and Kalahari dates. The party of 20 also got to indulge in double, sherry oak and rare Macallan casks that have taken a meticulous labour of love to craft.
