Summer in a glass

Now that summer is here, so are those warm sunny days. Now’s the perfect time to sit back and relax with the ultimate summer refreshment in hand – the Angostura Rock Shandy!

This perfect bitters serve has rocked our worlds for as long as we can remember. Uniquely South African, Angostura aromatic bitters is the first choice in restaurants, country clubs and cocktail bars, and an ambassador for home entertaining. We have a delicious Rock Shandy recipe as well as two alcohol-free cocktail recipes for you to try this summer!

Make Rock Shandy at home:

  • Pour half a can of soda water and half a can of lemonade over ice, add four to six dashes Angostura aromatic bitters on top, stir, garnish with a lemon or lime wedge and serve.

 

Try the alcohol-free Steelworks:

  • Fill a glass three-quarter way with ice and add soda water to the level of the ice. To this, add 30ml cola tonic and top up with ginger beer. Then add four dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters, stir, garnish with a lemon wheel and serve.

 

Or try another the Lemon Lime Bitters:

  • In a glass, add six to eight dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters. Then add ice, 30ml freshly squeezed lemon juice, 22ml lime cordial and 22ml sugar syrup. Top up with Sprite and garnish by squeezing the lemon wedge into the drink before adding it to the glass. En voilà, it’s ready to serve.
