After a three-year break, the Rand Airport Airshow is back – and aviation fans and families can look forward to an action-packed day in the skies above Germiston.
With the last Rand Airport Airshow taking place in 2023, this much-loved event is set to make a welcome return, bringing together thrilling aerial displays, historic aircraft, family entertainment and plenty of aviation excitement.
Look to the skies
The 2026 flying programme promises a mix of high-energy aerobatics and classic aircraft, with displays featuring some of South Africa’s well-known aircraft and pilots.
Among the highlights are the Rand Airport-based Puma Flying Lions, Harvards, Master Power Extra 330s and the classic Beech 18, with more aircraft joining the line-up.
For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, static aircraft displays will offer the chance to get a closer look at some of the machines taking part. Flight schools will also be at the event, giving aspiring aviators an opportunity to find out more about training and careers in the aviation industry.
A day out for the whole family
It’s not all about the flying. Visitors can enjoy a selection of food and drinks throughout the day, while a dedicated beer tent offers a relaxed spot to take a break and soak up the atmosphere.
The event also aims to introduce younger visitors to the possibilities within aviation, from becoming a pilot or engineer to exploring the many other careers that keep the industry flying.

Rand Airport Airshow 2026 takes place on Sunday, 30 August 30, at Rand Airport, Germiston. Gates open at 8am, with the flying display running from 10am to 3.30pm.
Tickets are R160 for adults, R120 for pensioners, R100 for children under 12, while little ones under two enter free. Tickets are available through Quicket and will also be sold at the gate on the day.
