Sophisticated, scrumptious spoils #hosted

Let’s face it – we don’t get out much these days. And if there’s one thing we’ve missed, it’s a really good breakfast! Which is why we were thrilled when tashas invited us for a meal, in celebration of the fact that their doors are finally open again.

With it’s sophisticated style and indulgent menu, we couldn’t think of a better place to enjoy our very first post-lockdown Get It girls sit-down breakie than the sensational tashas.

It may be a little daunting venturing out to a restaurant for the first time in our new COVID-19 world, but we were very impressed with the safety protocols and checks at the restaurant. They are thorough, without being intrusive, and they’ve put some pretty amazing systems in place to limit contact.
Temperatures are taken and masks worn by staff and instead of being given a physical menu, customers are able to scan a QR code (using a phone camera) and then view the menu on their own cell phones. Very tech-forward! You are also required to scan a code and fill in a quick health questionnaire on your phone.

But … onto the really important stuff. The food! Creamy avo on homemade gluten-free sourdough, exquisitely presented with spiced pistachio nuts – sophisticated yet simple. Your idea of breakfast heaven? What about brioche French toast, topped with cinnamon sugar and berries, served with maple syrup and a side of bacon? Yes, we know, impossible choices. Throw in a great cappuccino and a pot of hot tea and you’ve got a couple of very happy customers.

The dishes on the tashas breakfast menu are unlike most others. Everything has a touch of elegance and a special flare – all served with homemade toasted breads, butter and jam.

The same goes for their lunch options, which include quesadillas, sandwiches and salads. There are also slightly more filling meal options, like the Salmon Trout Fish Cakes with potatoe salad and radish and lemon parsley mayo, the Parmeson & Couscous Crusted Chicken with goat cheese, fennel, broccoli and herb salad (in a half or full portion) and the Mediterranean Lamb Cutlets with tzatziki, fries and salad. There is also a wide range of pastas, as well as smoothies, granitas and heavenly hot drinks.

Needless to say, there is something for everyone. The food is on-pointe, the coffee fantastic and the COVID-19 protocols impressive … and we highly recommend a visit. Soon!
