Up for a challenge? The Joburg SPAR Women’s Challenge is back, and it’s calling on women of all ages, shapes and sizes.
The best part? Everyone is welcome to take part, regardless of whether they run regularly, or just starting out.
This challenge has grown to become the most popular and inclusive road race in South Africa, simply because of its supportive atmosphere, sense of camaraderie and routes that are both scenic and safe. You get to choose between a 5km or 10km run or walk – how you complete it, is up to you. So, if you’re up for a challenge and want to be a part of the movement, you might want to mark your calendar for Sunday, October 1. The perfect way to kick off the month if you ask us! The race will be taking place around 8am at Marks Park in Judith Road, Emmarentia– one of the oldest clubs in Jozi, set on beautiful grounds with lovely views of the city.

Fancy the new Proton X50 SUVs? Here’s how you can stand a chance to win one!
As part of the women’s challenge, SPAR Grand Prix will be giving away a newly launched Proton X50 SUV worth R450 000 to one lucky participant.
Every runner over 18 years will be entered into a Proton lucky draw at each of the six races, with the winner of the draw called onto the stage during prize giving.
The six drawn participants will then travel to Gauteng as VIP guests for the SPAR Grand Prix Awards at the end of the year, where the final draw will take place. The winner takes home a luxury Proton car and the other five will receive runner-up Proton prizes. A 5km run is a small price to pay for such a luxe prize!
If you’ve got your eye on a gold medal, there’s good news for you too! Each race winner will receive a substantial Superfine voucher and age category winners of the overall SPAR Grand Prix will also receive vouchers.
Every participant in the six SPAR Women’s 10km races will also receive a discount on Superfine products.
