The lighter side…

Dynamic has a new name. Adele Mynhardt. She’s worn many hats in industries ranging from fashion to construction, painting to marketing, but it’s her latest venture in health and wellness that feels like just the right fit.

For Adele Mynhardt, it’s always been about taking risks and embracing change to fuel her entrepreneurial spirit, which she did for many years. But, something clicked when she worked as a practice manager for a doctor who specialised in medical weight loss. There was just something about being a part of someone’s transformative journey that kept her hooked.

So she did what she did best. Hustled her way to opening up her very own health and wellness business.

“The late Dr RJP Botha was like a father and mentor to me for two decades. He shared the formulation that inspired the creation of the ONEWeigh brand with me a few years ago. Starting this business was the natural next step for me. “It’s a sustainable, medically assisted programme that helps achieve effective fat loss..”

But, it’s not just about shedding kilos … it’s a journey towards becoming a better you, with a dash of empathy and non-judgmental support. Because Adele believes true transformation starts from the inside. Since opening, she’s added flair with divisions offering various drip therapies, as well as a team of pro stylists who provide makeovers to celebrate milestones. And coming up is a child obesity programme, too.

In a world buzzing with information overload, Adele prioritises simplicity … balancing body, mind, and spirit with the basics … drinking enough water, having an attitude of gratitude, and staying active.

At home, she also enjoys the simple things. Spending time with her children (22-year-old Dedryck and 21-year-old Delané … when they’re in SA, that is) and indulging in hobbies like golfing, padel, or unwinding with a good read or a podcast.

Always on the move, Adele’s sneaker collection is as vibrant as her personality … and, very symbolic of her busy yet joyful life. Not only are they great for running around between the branches, but they’re perfect for busting a funky dance move every now and again.

Despite her positive outlook on life, she’s the first to admit that it isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. One of the biggest hurdles in Adele’s life was navigating the grieving process after the heartbreaking loss of her fiancé only a few years ago.

“It wasn’t just about saying goodbye to that person, it felt like bidding farewell to future plans, dreams, and a part of myself. But with the love and grace of God by my side, I found the strength to tackle one of the loneliest journeys I’ve ever faced.

“Through the darkness of severe depression, anxiety, and burnout, I feel like the new me emerged victorious. Healing isn’t always a walk in the park … it demands deliberate effort and the courage to confront unbearable pain. There’s no magic formula for grieving; it’s a day-by-day, minute-by-minute battle, every single day. And through it all, I just learned to be kind to myself.”

But in spite of where life takes her, Adele’s heart will always lay close to the community. Through initiatives like Live2Serve, she channels her passion into helping abused, neglected, and underprivileged children, spreading love and joy wherever she goes.
As she continues to chase her business dreams and tackle her personal goals, one thing is clear … Adele is a force to be reckoned with, making waves of positivity wherever she treads.

Weight-loss myths debunked
• All calories are created equal. Your body doesn’t metabolize all foods the same way. It also affects insulin levels, blood sugar spikes and fat storage. There’s a huge difference between 100kcals cake and 100kcals carrots.
• Eating later in the evening makes you gain weight. Eating late at night may make you gain weight only if you go over your daily calorie budget.
• Juice cleanses help you lose weight. It may result in short term weight loss only due to a severe calorie deficit. Once you re-introduce solid foods, you’re likely to gain all weight that was lost.
• Obesity is about willpower, not biology. Obesity is a very complex disorder with hundreds of contributing factors
Remember … if a weight loss method sounds too easy or too good to be true, it probably is
