Old money, new energy

Inspired by the old-world glamour of the Hamptons, a touch of Scarlett O’Hara grace, and that timeless, editorial edge we see across Vogue spreads, a creative collective of KZN’s finest – designers, stylists, florists, photographers and more – wanted to explore what this trend could really look like when done right, and more importantly, when done locally.

The team of local creatives came together with one goal: to show local brides that world-class wedding inspiration doesn’t just exist online. It exists here. Right in our backyard. They weren’t just pulling together pretty details; they were building a story. One rooted in refined beauty, meaningful design, and the kind of creative synergy that happens when each vendor brings their A-game and interprets the theme in their own brilliant way.

Rather than follow trends, they chose to set the tone. Out with the usual champagne towers and mille-feuille cakes. They opted for espresso martinis and a cloud-like pavlova-style dessert. Satin replaced the typical linen, antique flatware added richness and texture, and they leaned into a floral palette of deep plums, forest greens and soft neutrals to evoke that old-world warmth. The bride’s look said it all: a drop-waist corset dress paired with a classic, vintage-inspired hairstyle.

This shoot is more than a mood board – it’s a love letter to intentional styling, to collaboration and to a generation of brides ready to reimagine elegance.
