Palesa Motloung is an Owner Driver at Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) in Bloemfontein where she owns her own truck. What she loves most about her job is that she has become a good example to all women by showing them that nothing is
impossible. “We can and we are going to do this. We as women, we are strong.”

Palesa had a tough time growing up and nothing came easy. “I have learned how to work hard for everything l want to achieve in life.”

She also considers herself a friendly person “who likes to socialise with people”. On a question how she juggles family and business, Palesa says time management is important. She schedules her time wisely. “When it’s time for business l give it my all and when I am home with my family l give them all my time; that’s how l succeed.”

The best decision that Palesa has ever made is not giving up, even when facing many challenges. “l keep standing on my feet and moving on, when one door closes, another will open.” Palesa regrets not finishing school, but she is currently working on it. Therefore, she encourages the youth to complete school to better their chances for the future.

According to Palesa, the only way we will survive the Covid-19 pandemic is by standing together, as well as listening and supporting the government through compliance to the rules and regulations.

When asked if she collaborates with other women in her industry, she answered yes excitedly. “Three women including myself formed a group to help each other grow and reach the same levels as our male colleagues in our sector. We are the only female drivers and by standing together and motivating each other we can succeed.”

“PHAMBELE ABAFAZE PHAMBELE – FORWARD WOMEN FORWARD…!”
