Delia Bukes, the Managing Director of Sales at Bloemsec, has worked hard to come out at the top in a male-dominated industry. She manages and oversees the sales operations in Bloemsec and leads an effective selling strategy for the company.
“I design and plan to meet our company’s target developing relationships with customers and evaluating costs for selling products and services.”
With Delia’s innate determination, she has managed to lead effectively whilst maintaining a positive working environment. She believes that it is imperative as a leader to develop and encourage a mentality of abundance. “An optimistic attitude combined with positive thinking is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation.”
Delia highlights the euphoric feeling of celebrating the 20th birthday of the company in Bloemfontein as one of her career highs. “Another defining moment would definitely be the day I was given the opportunity to become one of the directors of Bloemsec.”
In setting themselves apart from their competitors, branding has been an important part of building Bloemsec. Delia says, “Branding plays a huge role in establishing exactly who we are and what we do.”
Delia also believes that taking time for herself to re-energise is an absolute must, especially spending time with her family. “My husband Clinton and our two sons are the most important factors. We love travelling all over the world and making new memories.”
Delia emphasises that meeting clients’ needs is the primary focus at Bloemsec. “With every new development we have to develop new trends. Right now, as South Africans, we have to deal with load shedding and the impact it has on what we do. Situations like this constantly take us back to the drawing board to focus on how we have to overcome critical situations.”
