Inspired by watching their father manage his own transport business when they were younger, brothers Gert and Eugene Goeieman have made it a mission to inspire young people in their community while making the most of their entrepreneurial journey as partners.
For them it is about improving yourself as a business person, being active in your business, and also about expanding your knowledge to boost yourself.
“You have to make time for stuff if you really want it to work. For your loved ones, for your business, and for the passion that you have for your business. We have a good relationship when it comes to supporting each other,” said Gert.
Being able to relieve each other from responsibilities helps the brothers to respectively make time for their personal lives.
Eugene, who is responsible for marketing, highlighted that it is not an easy task to start a business from scratch. It requires your full focus and attention.
“If you are able to work for yourself, you must work harder than your staff. If you have a good team and you take care of each other it will work out,” he expressed.
Founded a decade ago, Angels Funeral Parlour in Heidedal has gradually adapted to the ever-changing business landscape. The owners explained that the first few years were quite challenging but recently, post-Covid 19, they had the opportunity to grow.
“We always have tried to come up with new ideas for the business,” expressed Gert.
Their advice for aspiring entrepreneurs is that they stay away from negative and bad influences as they can impact how they think. “It depends on you and how you want to live your life moving forward. If you mingle with the wrong people and the wrong crowd, you will not be able to become who you want to be.”
Angels Funeral Parlour offers funeral services across the country as well.
