Willie van Wyk- Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa Human Resource business partner

Willie van Wyk has been involved in HR management for over two decades in various aspects such as planning, strategy, recruitment, people development and many more.

Besides being a business partner in human resources, Willie is married and has two sons who are currently at the University of the Free State. He enjoys travelling, exploring new places and is quite passionate about sports, particularly golf.

“My career includes 28 years with the Coca-Cola system in South Africa, where I have successfully implemented numerous HR initiatives to enhance the employee experience. I am passionate about helping people succeed professionally and personally. I have played a coaching and mentoring role for many employees within the business,” Willie said.

Outside of being office-bound, Willie likes to maintain a healthy balance between work and life. He always makes sure to disconnect from work and focus on his overall well-being and happiness.

The HR business partner ensures that he prioritises taking regular breaks from work to spend quality time with family and friends. This helps him stay connected with his loved ones and to recharge.

“I also actively engage in activities I enjoy, such as playing golf, exercising, gardening and braaiing. I also like to read and love spending time with my two young adult sons and their friends,” he mentioned.

Willie has a constant desire to help those around him achieve their full potential. “I have always found great satisfaction in recruiting, coaching and mentoring individuals, and guiding them to succeed professionally and personally. This desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives has been a driving force throughout my career,” Willie added.

He strives to be open and honest in his workplace. “It’s crucial to maintain focus on the plan and the desired outcome, even amidst constant changes. I firmly believe in the saying: “Tough situations don’t last, but tough people do.”
