SHE MEANS BUSINESS: Annette Kasselman – RealNet Properties

Annette Kasselman needs no introduction in Bloemfontein, the former Mrs South Africa is more than just a property practitioner, she is a wife, a mother, and a grandmother.

The youngest of three daughters, Annette grew up in Johannesburg, before relocating to Bloemfontein later on. With her husband, Chris, she raised two children, Lesya and Tokkie, and is now a grandmother to Ayla.

“I live for my family, my community and for making a positive difference in people’s lives,” she says.

Annette is an award-winning property professional with a passion for people. “I am deeply passionate about creating lasting relationships with my peers,” she says. “I’m just a happy-go-lucky, normal person with a job that I love.”

As her own cheerleader, she decided to motivate herself to live her life to the fullest. “If I fail, I try and I try again, I never give up and I work as if there’s no tomorrow,” she said. Annette loves to laugh and says that the “little girl” inside of her has never left.

When it comes to the business side of her life, Annette joined RealNet in Bloemfontein in 2012, a year after the branch opened its doors, and has since helped to make it the top RealNet franchise in South Africa. “I have the joyous job of bonding with people and offering them my services in selling or buying a home for their family,” she said.

“Without any doubt, assisting clients to find their dream homes – something that I have done informally for a long time – gives me tremendous job satisfaction,” added Annette.

For her, there is no greater satisfaction than that of a happy client, walking into his or her dream home for the very first time.

“I close deals in heels and I always show up. I dress for success and I am perfectly real,” says Annette. “I am assertive and unapologetically myself.” She also adheres to the highest of professional and ethical standards, listing her “non-negotiable integrity” as a key asset, alongside her honesty, loyalty, and dedication.

Annette’s faith and family is what keeps her motivated and committed. “My faith and my family keep me going,” she says, “for I know that God would not have put me into this position if He didn’t have a plan of success for us.”

Her career has afforded her time to spend with her husband and children, allowing her time next to sport fields and leisure time. Away from work, Annette is very social and enjoys playing Padel Tennis with her husband, and has recently signed with a modelling agency.

Annette is also looking forward to what it means to be a grandma.
