Ashley Schult moved to an unfamiliar town at just 19 years of age taking on the responsibility of building her father’s auto repair legacy with her husband Charl.
Ashley manages Dent Doctor Bethlehem opened by her father in 2019 alongside her husband. She is also the proud owner of a boutique called Different in Bethlehem.
Originally from Bloemfontein, Ashley has lived in Bethlehem for the past five years and mentions that being married to her best friend brings her immense joy.
“Although I’m sometimes short-tempered, my care and compassion for people shine right through. My enthusiasm for life and my commitment to personal and professional growth drives me to make a positive impact,” Ashley said.
“Over the past 5 years, Dent Doctor Bethlehem has established a strong reputation for precision, quality, and professionalism.
“We specialise in a variety of services, including major and minor repairs, paintless dent removal, bumper and plastic repair, and hail damage repairs,” Ashley said.
Ashley excitingly mentioned that her boutique stemmed from her passion for style and fitness, and she felt Bethlehem needed something “different”.
Ashley reminisces how the unexpected arrival of Covid-19 and the lockdown that followed in March 2020 took a toll on the business right after it was opened in September 2019.
“The period brought immense uncertainty and we faced daunting prospects for our business. Despite the uncertainty, we persevered, pouring our hearts into the business,” said Ashley.
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is very challenging and sometimes difficult to achieve, especially when you share a workspace with your significant other.
“I make a conscious effort to leave work at work and not bring it home. On weekends, we try to focus on relaxation and to not think about work.”
