So, before lockdown we stumbled upon a really awesome little coffee estate and roastery down the South Coast during a weekend visit to the folks, and we have been dying to return. Since most of us are still confined to our homes to curb the spread of Covid-19, we thought we’d share the story of Beaver Creek Coffee Estate & Roastery, in the hopes that when we are all allowed to moved around safely again, you might take a drive to indulge in a tour of this delightful space filled with aromas that will send you into a new world of coffee and cultivars.

Established in 1984, Beaver Creek is a family business of three generations who have all been personally involved in the growing, harvesting, roasting and brewing of what has become a much-loved coffee brand. Renowned for producing the freshest Arabica coffee in SA, Beaver Creek has four popular blends (grown in three different cultivars: F6, Catuai and Sl28), as well as their Estate Reserve Coffee (grown on the farm and 100 per cent local).

Visitors to the estate can sample coffee and purchase the range of freshly roasted Beaver Creek Coffee as well as other coffees from around the world. The estate also offers visitors a daily crop-to-cup tour (at 12pm) that outlines the distinctive flavours of the world’s coffee regions and the processes involved in creating the perfect cup. The Estate Cafe (which is open daily from 8am till 4pm) serves delicious meals and a range of freshly roasted coffee.

Booking for the tour is essential in holiday season, but you can check it all out at and order coffee directly from their online store www.beavercreek.co.za
