Offering a sense of happiness and relaxation that can only be found in a place untouched by city life, Treedom is the perfect blend of luxury and boho-chic living. It’s a dream destination made real.

Imagine staying in a home nestled in the middle of a forest. Well, we’ve found one! Situated roughly ten minutes outside of Wilderness on the beautiful Garden Route, Treedom offers an exclusive, four-sleeper Treehouse Villa … and an incredibly unique holiday experience.

We love the look and feel of the Treehouse Villa – an open plan space with large, expansive windows inviting the unspoilt natural surroundings inside.
After a day of activities such as mountain biking, boating, hiking, canoeing or horse riding, you get to collapse onto a four-poster queen bed and enjoy a blissful sleep on 100 per cent cotton linen. Upstairs in the loft are two comfy beds which can be turned into a king if required.

The lounge area is designed for relaxation with a comfy couch, fire place, luxury throws and big screen TV with DSTV, Netflix and Amazon Prime. Enjoy a good book on a private patio as you gently sway on the modern floating daybed; or listen to the birds while you cook in the fully-fitted kitchen with its Moroccan tiling and state-of-the-art cookware, before you end your day dining alfresco at a hand-crafted dining table. Or why not enjoy a braai downstairs in the outdoor forest lounge?

No stone was left unturned in the creation of the Treehouse Villa as owners, Debbie and Marc Nortje wanted the space to embody relaxation and luxury, and guests to feel at home and spoilt at the same time.
The concept of Treedom was born seven years ago. Debbie who is a trained chef, African tour guide and VIP events director and Marc with 20 years in film. Together their experience with people, travel and culture fuelled this project. It is, essentially, their hearts on show through an immersive, engaging and enchanting experience, designed to spread joy and happiness. Their future plan is to add more units in the style of Gypsy Wagons (Vardos).
The venue was made a reality by Pike’s Construction, who undertook special construction work to keep the forest as pristine as possible and the magic alive. Instead of roads, they created dreamy footpaths, but this meant that everything had to be carried up and down steep pathways – even the heaviest of cement blocks!

Need to know:
Prices for the self-catering Treehouse Villa (sleeps four – one queen bed and two single beds) start from R2600 a night. Guests are treated to a welcome pack including home-baked goods as well as honey, milk, yoghurt and butter from a neighbouring farm, and eggs from Treedom’s own hens. Guests can also pick their own produce from Treedom’s veggie garden. For those who prefer not to be stuck in the kitchen themselves, being a passionate foodie, Debbie is more than happy to do the cooking on request. Treedom is located close to a petrol station, shops and a gorgeous lake minutes away which guests can reach with a 4×4 buggy.
