Kearsney College was a gathering ground for proud parents and young fans who flocked to the Stott Field to support local and travelling schools in exhilarating match-ups during the Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival. In its 14th year, the three-day festival, held over the Easter weekend, wrapped up on a successful note with three teams finishing the tournament with a perfect record. Enthusiastic near-capacity crowds were treated to a showdown of fearless spirits and good sportsmanship and Glenwood, Westville Boys’ High and Hoërskool Monument from Krugersdorp, left Botha’s Hill unbeaten, after winning all three of their respective matches. The Spirit of the Festival trophy was awarded to festival debutants Worcester Gimnasium for their conduct on and off the field, player of the tournament was Hoërskool Monument’s scrum half, Ceano Everson.
