The Kind Tree made its first appearance at Thrive in Maytime Centre, Kloof recently, and what a great turnout it was. Launched by Jane Linley-Thomas and Paul Bhushell as a KindnessCan initiative, the tree was a reminder to all of how powerful simple acts of kindness can be. Visitors were encouraged to write messages, quotes or stories of kindness and add these to the tree during the interactive morning. To add to the theme of paying it forward, for every message of kindness put on the tree, Thrive donated a feminine hygiene product to the Jes Foord Foundation, an NPO dedicated to empowering rape survivors through education, awareness and support initiatives since 2008.
