Don’t miss the 2023 Movember Expo which combines men’s health awareness with exciting hobbies and interests. Featured vendors include those specialising in motorcycles, motocross, clothing, beards, tattoo artistry, Toyota vehicles, off-roading, jet skis, boats, racing cars, collectibles, car sound, services, guns, custom knives, extreme sports and more. The venue is spacious and undercover which means come rain or shine you can push the boundaries of racing realism with the Vesaro Formula simulator, shake hands with a few celebs – including SA rugby legend Keegan Daniel, feast your eyes on a signed replica of the iconic Knight Rider vehicle, and be blown away by legendary drift king Eric the Viking and his V8 monster. So, get down to the Automark Showroom in Westville on Saturday, November 4. Doors are open from 9am to 12pm. Entry is R30 a person which will be donated to a worthy cause.

It’s a massive yay for Durban fans of Boyz II Men who have added our sunny city to their South African tour. With four spectacular live shows taking place in all corners of the country, this iconic R&B group who redefine the genre and continue to create timeless hits that appeal to fans across all generations will close off at the Durban ICC on Sunday, November 5. Limited tickets for the seated concert are available at Ticketpros and range from R390 to R1390. Details: ticketpros.co.za

For those who’ve followed their extraordinary journey on America’s Got Talent, you won’t want to miss  our chance to witness the magic of the Sowetan Mzansi Youth Choir as they make history in South Africa by performing live, alongside the Canadian duo Neon Dreams, in a collab with Ignition Group. And it’s all happening right on our doorstep at The Globe at Suncoast on Saturday, November 18. 24-27 November

Grab your chance to help keep track of what’s happening to our natural world by joining in the Great Southern Bioblitz. Participating is easy using the free iNaturalist app and website which has a buzzing social network of naturalists, citizen scientists and biologists maps and shares observations of biodiversity across the globe. For 96 hours from November 24 to 27, everyone is invited to participate and community collaboration is encouraged – local councils, community groups such as Scouts, Girl Guides, environmental groups, land care groups, “Friends of” groups and more. Once you’ve downloaded the app, take a walk, take photos of wild creatures, fungi and plants and upload them using the app. Details: www.greatsouthernbioblitz.org

Super senior fitness

If you’re over 50 and looking for a great way to stay fit and make new friends, then join Super Troupers, a fabulous group of women affiliated with the South African Seniors Fitness Association who get together on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to enjoy an hour of specially choreographed Rhythmic Exercise for seniors. Encouraged by SASFA qualified instructor Patricia Victor, everyone works at their own pace and capability to music from the good ol’ days, with the focus on flexibility, balance, poise, coordination, stamina, muscle strengthening and cardiovascular exercises. They use rah rah sticks, balls, small weights and stretch bands in some of the routines and anyone who is well and able is welcome to join. Classes are Mondays from 9am to 10am and Fridays from 8.30am to 9.30am at Holy Trinity Church in Hillcrest, and on Wednesdays from 9.15am to 10.15am at Le Domaine in Hillcrest. It’s R120 a month for a class once a week and R220 a month for twice a week. It’s R150 a month for one class a week at Le Domaine. Men are welcome too! Details: Contact Patricia on 082 965 0074.
