The Association for the Aged (Tafta) hosted a successful, combined sports day for more than 200 elders in Durban recently. If ever there was an event that showed elders pursuing an active aging lifestyle this, was it. With nine different teams representing various Tafta homes, centres and clubs in and around Durban, there was friendly competitiveness as they challenged or supported each other in various field events. Zany team mascots entertained the participants with singing, cheering and dancing, while team captains had their hands full ensuring their members were ready to give it their all. The final winners of this year’s sports day were the team of John Conradie House, Langeler Towers.
