The Easter weekend just got a whole lot sweeter thanks to this year’s Durban Dessert Festival. The three-day festival, which has become a decadent highlight on the city’s culinary calendar, will showcase the best desserts KZN’s artisans and bakers have to offer. From classic favourites like mini donuts and decadent cupcakes to innovative creations like dessert cups, mochi, macarons, churros and more, there’s something for every palate. Also to be enjoyed is a line-up of talented musicians and entertainers, creating the perfect atmosphere to savour your desserts while grooving to the beats. The festival is designed for the whole family, with a dedicated kids’ area, ensuring that everyone can revel in the sweetness of the occasion. Fans are in for a musical treat at this year’s Splashy Fen Music Festival taking place over the Easter long weekend. Along with a handful of favourites who’ll be returning to the festival, there’s an exciting line-up of international acts – like The Dreggs from Australia, Casey Lowry from the United Kingdom, Nordista Freeze and Felipe Baldomir – and local talent ready to take to the stage including Hot Water, Rubber DUC, Tanner Wareham, and a special performance by The Parlotones. Also to be on the listen out for are Zimbabwe’s Black Mamba Man, Jozi’s 4am, Durban’s Veranda Panda, and global favourites the Ndlovu Youth Choir. Mums, dads, little ones, everybody’s favourite PAW Patrol characters will be heading to Durban this month for a three-day performance of PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue! The show shares lessons for all ages about citizenship, social skills and problem-solving as the characters each use their unique skills and teamwork. Don’t miss it at the Durban ICC from March 29 to 31. Shows are at 10am, 1pm, and 4pm with a run time of about 75 minutes. Tickets are priced from R250 and available at Ticketpro.
