There was plenty of heart and happy energy at The Valley Trust – a centre for health promotion in the communities of the tribal areas of the Valley of a Thousand Hills and greater Ethekwini. Why? Because Chic Mamas, staff and special guests had gathered to unveil Phase 2 of the outreach, a vibrant new interactive playground and sports space for children up to 16. In partnership with Chic Mamas Do Care Durban – a South African non-profit organisaton who believe in the importance of early childhood development – and main sponsor M&G Investments, the project features basketball, netball, indoor soccer and cricket facilities, alongside a playground and teenage gym area. Guests enjoyed tea, coffee and snacks while children wasted no time exploring the space. Artificial grass, installed by The Grass Warehouse, adds beauty and durability, and the space also creates future income potential for The Valley Trust through community hire.
