The Gogolympics Photo Exhibition has opened at the Woza Moya Upstairs Gallery, celebrating the inspiring women of the Valley of 1000 Hills who continue to care for families and strengthen their communities. Presented through a partnership between Hello Poppy NPC, Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust and photographer Brett von Dort, the exhibition features a collection of powerful images capturing the spirit, determination and vitality of local gogos. Visitors are offered a glimpse into the laughter, friendships and preparations leading up to the annual Gogolympics, with each photograph telling a story of perseverance and purpose. Led by Jane Linley-Thomas and Dr Paul Bushell, Hello Poppy NPC is dedicated to promoting dignity, wellbeing and happiness among older women through community-driven projects. The exhibition also raises funds for the Gogolympics and initiatives that continue to recognise and support these remarkable community matriarchs.
