From the moment you walk through the gates at The Royal Countess Zingara you will be treated to a feast for all your senses.
The story of Zingara is inspired by wanderers, dreamers and storytellers of old. Madame Zingara, who has travelled the globe collecting flavours, tales and talent, shares it with you in one magical night where theatre, performance art, and decadent dining intertwine.
International stars and homegrown talent will envelop you in wonder, tempting your tastebuds, stirring your soul, and igniting your imagination.
Before the show begins, get into character with a touch of theatrical artistry while you have your face painted or step inside and consult the cards with Adrian, the resident tarot reader.
As the doors open, a welcome drink awaits. A minty mojito will sure get you in the mood while you mingle and make your way to your table where all the magic unfolds.
Each waiter has their own persona and arrives in a flash spinning around the room with dishes floating in the air.
To whet your appetite, an African sunset mezze that includes a classic cup of soup, served with an assortment of scrummie delights. Each of the four courses is choreographed into the rhythm of the evening’s performance. Our fave dish of the night … The famous chocolate chilli fillet with a sauce that blended dark Belgian chocolate, rosemary & chilli, served over a succulent beef fillet on a bed of sautéed black mushrooms and arugula.
And to end the night, a surprise trio of desserts arrive to sort out your sweet tooth.
The night includes three acts during your dinner courses. Gracing the stage with their presence are rollerskating and hand-to-hand acrobats Jamie and Beata, former Cirque du Soleil aerial cradle specialists Juan Pablo Palacios and Victoria Perez Iacono of Argentina. Then there are Las Vegas-based Rola Bola virtuoso Axel Perez and Johannesburg acrobat Samantha Kotze as well as acclaimed vocalists Megan Spencer and The Clorettes from Cape Town.
