Wink Optometrist will be supporting Cupcakes of Hope this September and invites everyone to the practice on September 9. Cupcakes of Hope assists between 100 and 120 patients every month by paying for their medical and other day-to-day needs. They also help supply hospitals with much-needed medical equipment, PPE equipment, educational toys, as well as hospital room makeovers. On the day you will not only get to know the team of Wink Optometrist but also be able to support their fundraiser. They will sell homemade cupcakes to help raise funds for children with cancer. 02 SEPTEMBER
Calling all golfers to support Alberton High School’s annual golf day fundraiser at Germiston Golf Club on September 2. The golf day will be a fundraising event where proceeds will go towards the maintenance of a computer lab, hospitality venue and workshop for agricultural studies.

06 SEPTEMBER
Retina South Africa will host the Saving for Sight golf day at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club on September 6. The event, sponsored by the DisChem Foundation, will raise funds to support and empower people with retinal vision loss and also advocate for fair and accessible treatments. The format is a four-ball alliance scramble drive and two scores to count at a cost of R5 000 per fourball. This will include refreshments on arrival, a halfway house, lunch, dinner and a prize-giving. However, carts and caddie costs are excluded. The first tee-off is at 11am. There will be two shows on the day. Unleash the creative you and book for a stained glass workshop in the tranquil settings of Henley on Klip on September 10. Workshops last for about four hours and you will complete a suncatcher, which is yours to keep. All tools and materials, as well as instructions, are provided. Workshops are aimed at people who want to try their hand at the art before they commit to buying the equipment and, of course, at those who want to have an afternoon of fun with friends. Nineties vs Noughties is a popular song roller coaster with a skilled 10-piece cast that resurrects pop and rock icons from both decades. Compact disc players, the Sony Walkman, and vinyl records dominated the 1990s, while the internet Media Player, iTunes, and YouTube dominated the 2000s.
