We sure love fashion… and with that any excuse to dress up. February is the month of love and we thought it might be a good idea to ask local image consultant and makeup artist and owner of Full Circle Image Consulting, Lizel van der Westhuizen for a few fashion tips. Here are a few must have fashion items for date night:

Sexy and dressy

Every woman needs a sexy little number for that special occasion and it’s safe to say that there is a dress for every body shape. “Show off your best features. Pick a mini dress if your legs are your biggest asset or go strapless if you’ve got great shoulders,” Liezl explains.

Dark and fitting

“Jeans can be sexy on date night, but don’t forget the importance of the correct fit. Leave the light wash denims for another day, they’ll either look too casual or too ‘soccer-mom’ for a night out with your guy,” says Lizel.  Rather opt for a dark denim in a figure-flattering fit. Hug your curves with jeans in a slim, straight cut. “To make your denim look date-appropriate, pair it with jewellery, kitten heels and a sexy top. And don’t be afraid to show some skin. You can get away with more cleavage or an open back since you’re keeping your legs covered,” Lizel adds.

Evening bling

Dress up your daytime ‘work’ pencil skirt or pair it with a pair of jeans. “Go for a beautiful silk blouse, opt for something with sequins or try a beautiful camisole. Remember the more basic and toned-down the rest of your outfit is, the more daring you can go up top, whether it’s flashing a little cleavage or adding a pop of colour,” Lizel says.
