Joanita Coetzee is the proud owner and CEO of two businesses in the City of Roses. She struts her stuff in the numbers industry as a Charter Accountant and CEO at Futura Financial Services while fulfilling her childhood dream as owner of Lejit Lekker in Bloemfontein.
According to Joanita, she decided to go into the finance industry purely based on passion, while owing a restaurant is a childhood dream come true.
She says her biggest motivators in life are her faith and support from her loved ones.
When asked what kept her business going despite these difficult economic times, she says prayers and constantly looking for creative ways to reinvent herself and her businesses.
She is most proud of her professional qualification as a Chartered Accountant and taking the leap of faith to buy and run a restaurant.
Joanita advises those starting out, to believe in yourself and dream big. “If your dreams do not scare you, you are not dreaming big enough,” she says.
She adds that having faith in God, determination and a positive outlook are characteristics you need to build a successful business.
Starting your career, she advises that she would have started taking risks earlier. “I would have believed in myself and my passion more and not listened to the critiques telling me that I cannot do what I am doing,” she says.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing creative handiwork, and spending time with her loved ones.
